Hay is definitely one of the most colorful and cheerful hotels in Alaçatı. The land that the hotel is settled in used to be the Yıldırım family’s field, where they used to grow vegetables and fruits and chickens walked around freely. When their father Hilal Arslan Yıldırım – the hotel got its name from his initials- has passed away in 2012, the 3 siblings decided to create a place to honor their beloved fathers memory. He was an acclaimed architect in İzmir, so the hotel was naturally inspired by his work. His architect son, Korhan did the project, and his fashion designer daughter Deniz –who also has a clothing line under the name Deno- took care of the interior design. The idea behind the hotel is creating a “Mexican beach house”, thus most of the decorative objects used in the hotel are brought from Mexico. The space is filled with vivid and colorful paintings and objects which create a dynamic, cheerful & refreshing atmosphere without being overwhelming; as the colors are harmoniously blended into the building. The hotel has 24 bungalow style rooms in 4 different categories, a wonderful brunch room with open buffet breakfast, a peaceful garden with palm and fruit trees, a large pool, and a poolside snack bar where fresh mantı – turkish minced meat dumpling-, meatballs, hamburger and snacks are served all day long. Hay is one of the biggest hotels in Alaçatı, but still has a cosy little homely feeling.
