dutlu_kahve_01

We used to go to Dutlu Kahve every evening 10 years ago, when there was basically nowhere else in Hacı Memiş. In the beginning we used to go there to have tea, then we started tasting the appetizers and then fell in love with the braised meat. We started calling the owner, Ismail Kolçak and asking him to make us braised meat every day. For a very long time, under that majestic berry tree there were only us and the elderly men of the village sitting at the tea house across the street. We had the chance to enjoy the silence away from the crowd of Alaçatı for a few years. Eventually this place and its delicious offerings were discovered and we woke up from our dream. We find consolation in the hope that all places in Alaçatı would develop and expand as elaborately as this place. Haldun Demirhisar, who had put a lot of effort into Alacati for years, gave hand to Ismail and his wife to make the tea house without ruining its spirit. Keeping its authentic texture, Dutlu Kahve now welcomes many people, expands its delicious variety of foods yearly; simply on its way to becoming a legend.

ferdibaba

Ferdi Baba is just like a legend, descending from father to son in Çeşme. Its first branch was opened in Şifne, and quickly became a favorite for seafood and meze (Turkish tapas) lovers. Ferdi Baba opened two new restaurants later on, one in Çeşme Marina and one in Alaçatı Port. The first branch in Şifne is closed now but Ferdi Baba’s new restaurant in Alaçatı Village has become very popular lately and that is definitely not a coincidence. Once you enter the restaurant, the music captures you first, then the details in decoration grabs your attention – such as the old three-wheeled carrier at the entrance that is now used as a fish fridge or the baking stone in the garden where delicious seafood pizzas are baked. The cozy atmosphere of Ferdi Baba Alaçatı Village branch is sure to offer you a night to remember as the service quality, taste and ambiance are almost perfect. Ferdi Baba aims ‘to provide the same standard in all branches’, thus each branch is run by a family member taking care of all the details. They enjoy talking to the guests about fish, giving recommendations and sharing their enthusiasm – so don’t be afraid to ask! All branches are open throughout the year.

fava1

The 165-years-old building’s atmosphere and the region’s most delicious and special tastes came together to create a perfect place in Alacati.

Once you enter the restaurant, more than a hundred years old stones greet you. The yard has three doors, all open to the parts of the house. Renovated preserving its authenticity, these three rooms host three different brands.  One is ‘Fava’, a fine-dining restaurant. The upper floor houses 1850 Boutique Hotel with 2 rooms. Once you enter the garden, you get the feeling you are in a very special place. This popular garden, set between two Greek houses, offers a festivity to the guests: The marble and wooden tables in line with the architecture of the building and the fireplace designed for the chilly evenings provides a comfortable and cozy feeling.

The tables on the street, apart from the garden, offer a unique dining experience. The menu, consisting of various options of tapas and seafood is created carefully with the ingredients and spices supplied from local producers. Most of the other ingredients are grown in the restaurant’s own garden.

Kalamata olive fava and Crete zucchini with mastic, created with the owner’s own grandmother’s recipes, are the ‘must-try’ tastes of Fava.

Baked spicy Cunda cheese, sea bass pastry with artichoke, octopus with halloumi cheese are among our favorites.
